The Newton WaterWorks won the Best Tasting Water in Iowa award this week at the 99th Iowa Section of the American Water Works Association conference at the Prairie Meadows Hotel in Altoona.  The competition held in Altoona received samples from Iowa cities and were ranked by an impartial panel of judges in a blind taste test.  The judges compared the water on odor, taste, aftertaste, and overall general appearance.  The award was presented to Marty Hoffert, Field Services Director for the Newton WaterWorks.

Marty said that the Newton WaterWorks once again won first prize as Iowa’s best tasting tap water.  Newton also won this prestigious award in 2006.  Marty remarked that this award was made possible by all the professional employees of the WaterWorks. We take a lot of pride in providing drinking water.   This is truly an opportunity to “Get to Know Newton”.
